Abstract

This IDC study provides an insight from a recent survey study on IT managers and professionals into software innovation, licensing preference, and industry-specific requirements, particularly in enterprise resource management (ERM) application in Australia, People's Republic of China (PRC), India, and Korea. Furthermore, this survey includes the software vendors' mindshare results for product and process innovation for the four major countries.

"Most enterprises are demanding the vendors for simpler pricing models and to allow the customers to pay only for the software that they used," says Alan Tong, research manager, Asia/Pacific Enterprise Applications Research, IDC Malaysia. "The vendors' offering of software as a service (SaaS) is a step toward meeting the customers' needs."
