Abstract

This IDC study provides the latest software license and maintenance revenue shares of more than 100 enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications vendors for 2004–2006 and the overall market trends that form the basis of the 2007–2011 forecast. The ERP applications market rose 8% to $30.6 billion in 2006, with much of the growth coming from the small and midsize customer segments. "The future of the ERP applications market depends on a multitude of factors, including a return of attainable credit financing and surging adoptions of on-demand ERP solutions around the globe as well as increased investments by ERP vendors and their business partners, resellers, and systems integrators, all of which have much to gain because of their heavy exposure to the booming ERP economy,'' said Albert Pang, research director of Enterprise Applications at IDC.
