Karine Paoli is associate vice president for IDC's EMEA Personal Computing/Systems Infrastructure Solutions service, based in London.
She joined IDC U.K. in January 1999 and is responsible for IDC's client computing research in EMEA, managing all research programs within the group, including IDC's core research program EMEA Quarterly PC Tracker and all related product extensions (Mobile Computing Add-ons, Installed Base Tracker) and the European Personal Computing CIS program, EMEA Monitor Tracker, and European Hardware Pricing and Sales Out research, as well as all related research and consulting analysis.
Paoli has been instrumental in driving and developing IDC's Tracker research programs and overall PC research in EMEA from a research direction, client liaison, and business and product development perspective. She has over 15 years' experience in the PC industry and her expertise includes PC industry and distribution channel dynamics as well as vendor strategies and competitive analysis in both the consumer and business markets. She works very closely with all major players in the industry, vendors, and channel partners, conducts various consulting projects (supply, channel and end user-based) in related areas, and is frequently quoted in the press.
Prior to joining IDC U.K., Paoli worked at IDC in Paris, which she joined in 1993 as a senior consultant. During her time at IDC France, she was in charge of the French PC and Channel research program, which included monthly, quarterly, and annual research into the PC, multimedia, and mobile markets.
Paoli studied political science and economics at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Grenoble and holds an MBA in market research and marketing strategy from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris.
