"
China's burgeoning PC market is now the third largest and the most dynamic in the world, attracting both local and foreign companies alike.
However, PC vendors cannot view the market as a homogenous one. Each sub-region has its own unique buying behaviour and sophisticated strategies are essential to hone in on the vast opportunities available.

PC growth in 2002 is expected to be moderate by PRC standards but IDC expects the market to resume its growth track from 2003 onwards. Growth in 2003 and beyond will be fuelled by a PC replacement cycle in larger cities and stronger demand from second tier provinces. By region, North China will remain the powerhouse and dominate the market for the next 5 years, but the growth will come from East and South China.
