This report updates IT and telecom trends found in the four Nordic markets, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

The most recent financial developments in the four countries are highlighted as well as major market developments in hardware, software and services. New data and forecasts are provided for the size of all product markets in the Nordic countries. Furthermore, IDC's risk assessment for the Nordic region provides a heads-up on the most potential risks to the investment climate.

"The volatile economies and the slowing down of GDP outlook has let us to reduce our growth expectations for this year by 0.8 percentage points and also a reduction in 2009 and 2010 growth expectations. The big question is not if the economies are slowing down but for how long. A quick turnaround toward the end of 2008 will mean that the ICT industry will experience a limited impact because of the balancing from the lack of resources. But if the slowdown is lasting more than a year – which seems to be likely – there will be a more severe impact to growth of the ICT industry", says Per Andersen, managing director of IDC Nordic.
