In this event flash, IDC seeks to examine the feasibility of an open access environment in Malaysia by referencing the progress of government-funded projects in other countries, namely Australia and Singapore. After a few rounds of delays, Telekom Malaysia Bhd or TM finally received a letter of award from the government to implement the US$3.28 billion high-speed broadband (HSBB) project on 21 ^st August 2009. This event flash also seeks to highlight the impact of the HSBB project deployment in Malaysia.
