This IDC Presentation (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8210109) was presented in June 2008 to the clients. In this presentation we provide an analysis of the Japan LAN switch market in 2007 and forecasts for 2008–2012. The performance of the LAN switch market in 2007 is analyzed by form factor and layer. The vendor shares are analyzed based on revenue in 2006 and 2007. We have also included our observations of the competitive landscape in the Fixed Port switch market. Revenue and port shipments from 2008 to 2012 are forecast from the perspectives of form factor, layer, and user segment.
