"The rolled-up UDE and 3GL markets, which will be combined in IDC's taxonomy in calendar year 2009 into the aggregate development languages, environments, and tools functional market, represent the most mature portion of the application development software secondary market. Yet, they continue to show very moderate growth despite the pressure of open source software such as Eclipse," says Al Hilwa, program director for Application Development Software at IDC.
