Abstract

This IDC Web conference — presented by Henry Morris, SVP, Software and Services; Sue Feldman, research VP, Content and Search Technologies; Carl Olofson, research VP, Information Management and Data Integration Software; and Dan Vesset, program VP, Business Analytics — provides an update on the evolution of unified access to content and data and management of information. The divide between content and structured data access technologies is narrowing, and there are signs of progress toward the goal of unified access to all types of information. This IDC Webcast provides an annual update on the progress toward unified access to content and data. It considers new entrants that have emerged, as well as mergers and acquisitions by large software vendors seeking to add unstructured information features to their current offerings. IDC analysts also look at initiatives that cross traditional technology boundaries, including proposed new standards for content management.
