This IDC study examines the spatial information management (SIM) market for the period from 2005 to 2012, with vendor revenue trends and market growth forecasts. Worldwide market sizing is provided for 2007, with trends from 2005. Growing at 14.7% from 2006 to 2007, the SIM software market generated $2.86 billion in revenue.

"While overall economic conditions may dampen performance somewhat, IDC expects the SIM market to continue to grow at a brisk compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.5% over the next five years," says David Sonnen, IDC's consultant for Spatial Information Management.
