This IDC study presents a cumulative forecast of the optical networking market, based on IDC's current forecasts. IDC's Telecommunications Equipment program has been tracking and quantifying the various product segments that make up the next-generation optical networking landscape.
"Growth in the metro market overall will push revenue in the optical networking market past $13 billion by 2011," said Eve Griliches, program manager, Telecommunications Equipment, IDC.
