Abstract

This IDC study looks in detail at different types of home offices and their use of and attitudes toward mobile devices, services, and applications. Almost 36 million home office households in the United States are actively investing in advanced communications capabilities, representing an important market opportunity for providers of mobile devices and related services and applications.

"Home offices have traditionally been among the most advanced technology users of any consumer group," says Justin Jaffe, senior research analyst for Small/Medium Business and Home Office Research at IDC. "They continue to set the pace for technology adoption in a variety of ways, particularly with their use of and attitudes toward mobile devices."
