Abstract

This IDC study presents our preliminary 2006 revenue data and provides a five-year forecast for the worldwide clustering and availability software (CLAS) market.

"The clustering and availability software (CLAS) market is expanding, both worldwide and across server operating environments," says Jean S. Bozman. "Although there are signs that the CLAS market must adjust to rapid change, with new technologies such as virtualization and bladed servers being installed in IT sites, the need to preserve availability remains a demanding one for IT managers and business organizations. Without it, business continuity would be difficult to maintain, and preparation against unexpected downtime would threaten high availability for applications."
