Abstract

This IDC Presentation provides an overview of what IDC has found through its research both with customers and through the application of our supply side data to illustrate just how pressing the issues of power and cooling have become. On April 21, 2006, IDC partnered with Liebert Technologies to present a Webcast on the current state of power and cooling concerns within the data center. The foundation of the problem is explored through the rise of faster processors, high-density computing, and expanding server footprints, as well as organizational issues within the enterprise. Solutions are discussed to enable IT to better align with business needs and maximize the agility of the data center under power and cooling constraints.
