Junichi Saeki is the Vice President of IDC's Japan Research Group, including computer hardware, peripherals, software, services and communications. Saeki is responsible for overseeing all research functions, such as continuous intelligence service (CIS) report production, custom research, and consulting.
Before joining IDC, Junichi spent seven years as a director and research manager at Dataquest Japan, where he oversaw workstation, Unix system and high-performance computer system including supercomputer and massively parallel computer. Also he extended his coverage into service/support market and middleware including database management system and software development tools. He also oversaw several international and marketing surveys for multi-national computer vendors.
Prior to Dataquest, he spent three years at Schlumberger as an information system manager for the research computing center of the Tokyo facility. He also spent 10 years at Numazu Technical College as a professor for computer science and applied mathematics. He was responsible for the development and research of numerical analysis for large scale linear equations.
Junichi holds a Master degree of Science from the Engineering Department of Nagoya University, as well as a Bachelor Degree of Engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology.
