Abstract

This IDC study presents our adjusted worldwide and regional forecasts for the server market through 2011.

"IDC's server market forecast has been adjusted slightly to reflect stronger-than-expected results in the first half of 2007, particularly in the United States. While these results were better than expected, the stock market volatility we are experiencing in 3Q07, as well as the potential economic impact of falling real estate values and increasing oil prices, could have a dampening effect on consumer discretionary spending, which will ultimately be felt across all segments of the market," said Steve Josselyn, research director, IDC Enterprise Server Systems.
