Abhishek Kumar is a Senior Research Analyst for Financial Insights, Asia/Pacific. His role is to conduct research and consulting projects for the Asia/Pacific Banking, Capital Markets and IT Benchmarking Services. He brings relevant skills developed from conducting numerous consulting projects for small and medium to large size institutions. He consulted with clients on a variety of technological and strategic issues ranging from implementing modern accounting systems and conducting ROI projects to performing comprehensive information systems security reviews. He has also undertaken numerous studies in the areas of Islamic finance, IT security, datacenter implementation and enterprise content management.
Kumar routinely presents in banking and technology conferences around the region. He has been quoted regularly in various regional and local media such as ZDNet Asia, Business Times, The Edge; with multiple appearances on CNBC’s Market Watch.
Background
Prior to joining Financial Insights, Kumar was a management accountant at a small to medium sized business where he conducted research on the competitive and strategic market in order to guide the company to achieve its long-term goals. Kumar’s training in corporate finance also saw him undertake financial business analysis and valuation of the business to further strengthen its operative processes.
Education and Industry Affiliations
Kumar holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and completed his Masters of Professional Accountancy at Indiana University – Bloomington. During his Masters, Kumar also took an interest in Information Systems Security and gained a deep understanding of the complexities of the field. His grasp of finance and accounting makes it possible for him to be able to effectively analyze and understand a plethora of complex business issues.
